US sees rising revenue for mobile data

Research from Chetan Sharma shows that US mobile data revenue continues to grow in 2008 despite fears of recession. Over $8 billion is now being generated in the North American market by data revenue and the trend seems set to continue with the introduction of the new iPhone and other high specification 3G consumer mobiles it would seem that consumer confidence in accessing web services on small digital devices is growing. Better and clearer pricing on accessing the web via mobiles would also seem to be playing its part, with flat rate packages cited as influential in the report.

Several reports (reported on in this blog) now give strong evidence that consumers are now ready to do business on the mobile web. The convergence of web services provides companies with markets and opportunities to seek out a better ROI (Return On Investment) by offering customers the chance to carry out transactions whenever and wherever they are.
